Why We Support Veterans

Live Like Booj

Brian Bourgeois (“Booj”) embodied everything you would expect from a commanding officer of a SEAL Team—humble, grounded, a devoted family man, always up for a good time, and as squared away as they come.

Several of our team members were fortunate enough to have known Brian personally—many attended the same high school. We all feel a deep connection to him and to the values he represented. Brian exemplified the kind of patriotism, service, and strength of character that make us proud to honor his legacy in any way we can.

Each year, we host a crawfish boil on Saturday afternoon at the Houston World Championship Bar-B-Que Contest in his memory—a nod to his proud Cajun roots in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Born in Lake Charles and raised in Katy, Texas, Brian graduated from James E. Taylor High School in 1997. An avid outdoorsman, he grew up hunting and fishing with friends and family, and he excelled in both football and baseball. His drive to serve and lead led him to the United States Naval Academy, where he played four years of varsity football and built a lasting legacy of perseverance, friendship, and leadership.

Upon graduation and commissioning in 2001, Brian began his career as a Surface Warfare Officer. After three years—and multiple attempts—he achieved his goal of becoming a Navy SEAL, graduating with BUD/S Class 253. He went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School, where he was recognized with the Pat Tillman Leadership Award.

Commander Bourgeois was the perfect blend of grit and grace—driven, disciplined, and courageous, yet approachable, compassionate, and always willing to lend a hand. He led through action, cared deeply for those around him, and carried an unwavering commitment to service both in and out of uniform.

Brian loved life and the people in it. Nothing brought him more joy than his wife, children, and dogs. Despite the demanding nature of his career, he was a constant, loving presence—cheering at games, helping with homework, and celebrating every moment with his family. He and his wife, Megan, recently celebrated 20 years of marriage, and together they built a beautiful family filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

At 300 Justice Road, we honor Brian’s life and service by supporting veterans and their families. His legacy reminds us why our mission matters—to serve those who serve, to build community, and to ensure that the spirit of dedication and camaraderie he embodied continues to thrive in all that we do.
